News in Brief for 02 December


On the brief today is - will Abu Dhabi be part of the Le Mans Series Calendar, will Eco Racing race, VdeV and Porshce GT3 Challenge race updates.

  • It appears more and more likely that Abu Dhabi will make the final round of the Le Mans Series. Radical Sportscars made the slip when posting for another Series on their website. More when this becomes official.

  • Eco Racing seems to want to continue to race. After a failed, but stoic attempt to run a production diesel engine, the team is now looking running a non diesel engine for some ALMS and LMS with the aim being Le Mans. Funded drivers are being sort for this project

  • Philippe Mondolot and champion David Zollinger won the Challenge Endurance Proto race as part of the VdeV Championship at Estoril last weekend. The duo, racing a Norma M20 dominated the event, leading for almost six hours total. Jota Sport team Ligier JS49 with Simon Dolan and Sam Hancock took second and the Ligier JS51 driven by David Caussanel and Julien Schell took third.

  • Mark Krashos won the three races that made up the final round Australia's GT3 Cup Challenge. Jeff Bobik challenged for the race wins but couldn't beat Krashos. Matt Kingsley completed a remarkable 18-month turnaround from injury to seal the title deal and leave Melbourne as the GT3 Cup Challenge Series Winner. >Click here for the full report
