News in Brief for 08 December

Today we look at Audi and Peugeot rumours (and industry news!) along with David Brabahm news and more!

  • It is expected that Audi will make their 2010 motorsport plans public over the next few days. Now that the rules have been released they know what needs to be done to their cars. There is also the matter of VW having now taken a 49% stake in Porsche that may have been holding things up for all brands involved. We will bring you the news on this as it comes

  • In other industry news, PSA Peugeot Citron has expressed a wish to increase their relationship with Mitsubishi Motors. The two companies have alliances with SUV and hybrid development and production and the French have expressed a wish to have a more strategic relationship. Some say this includes PSA taking a ownership stake in the Japanese manufacturer. For the record, Mitsubishi has been in a rough financail state for a while now, and the Global Financial Crisis only served to make it worse

  • Seb Loeb and Kimi Raikkonen have again been linked to a Peugeot drive, this time with David Couthard. Publication, Autohebdo also mentioned something about Red Bull backing.

  • Gramd Am DP champ Jon Fogarty won the 25 Hours of Thunderhill over the weekend in a Porsche. Charles Espenlaub got burnt in a bad crash during the race but is expected to recover and race again.

  • David Brabham was honoured by the British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC). Brabham received the Fairfield Trophy. He also competed in the Mini Challenge over the weekend in Australia and after 3 races, he was fourth for the round. He came in 4th in race 1 and 2 and sixth in race 3.

    Brabham will also be joining Allan McNish at the Autosport International, to be held on 14-17 January 2010 in Birmingham, UK.
