OAK Racing Takes Control of Pescarolo the Manufacturer

OAK Racing have taken control of the manufacturing aspects of the Pescarolo prototype car program

French Le Mans Series team, OAK Racing has taken over the manufacturer and marketing of the Pescarolo prototype P1 and P2 cars.

OAK Racing will also develop the car and ensure its continued adherence to the ACO rules.

OAK Racing, who won the Asian Le Mans Series race, has taken control of the Pescarolo cars from Sora Racing, who had only recently taken the rights to the cars from Henri Pescarolo and the Pescarolo Sport outfit. Unfortunately for Sora, they either didn't have the funds or the will to drive the project forward.

In good news for fans, OAK Racing has made an important commitment to continuing the brand.

Jacques Nicolet, President of OAK Racing commented:

“This agreement allows us to proceed with the development of all the existing chassis and, in particular, to continue the search for more performance. We have strong ties with the brand and the spirit behind the creation of these cars and we absolutely want to continue that.

"This is a new challenge for OAK Racing. We take on this task with the same dedication and efficiency that we have showed so far, and with the technical support of the men of the Pescarolo Sport design department. Pescarolos are very good cars which demonstrate their qualities every season and I am sure they have a big future ahead of them.”

This announcement, however does not confirm the future of Pescarolo Sport. Team Owner of Pescarolo Sport, Henri Pescarolo had previously confirmed that his team was struggling to find the funding needed for a full season of racing.

This announcement, does, however confirm that the future of Pescarolo make is in safe hands.
