Rumours about Peugeot and Porsche make today's news, plus Oliver Pla and Grand Am announce good news.

  • French publication, AutoHebdo are reporting that Oreca have signed a deal with Peugeot to run the private 4th car at the 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours. Many other teams had been rumoured, including de Ferran and Pescarolo. Pescarolo was, apparently, ruled out after OAK Racing purchased the rights to the cars earlier this month. It is expected, that like Pescarolo in 2009, Oreca will run one of their bespoke cars at Le Mans next year.

  • Porsche could be on their way back to the prototype field in 2011. At the Porsche awards, Porsche AG’s CEO Michael Macht said "Motorsport is a central element of our company’s DNA. And it will hold an important role in the future. I’m not the only one at Porsche to be tempted to race for overall victory again at the Le Mans 24 hour race.”

This would run side-by-side with their various GT programs.

  • Olivier Pla will return with Quifel ASM to defend his LMP2 title. The team will continue with their Zytek package for 2010. Pla will remain with the team until at least the end of 2011. "I am very happy to have Olivier with us again and I'm confident that with him we can repeat the results of 2009," ASM Team Principal Antonio Simoes said at the time of the signing.
