News in Brief for 03 January


Pegasus Racing will be back in 2010

It may only be the third day of 2010 but the big stories are already beginning for the year. Today we have a couple of major announcements for the Le Mans Series and one for the Japanese Super GT category.

  • Team Oreca will be running their Oreca 01 AIM in 2010 according to Autosport. They will run the car as a 'junior' team and will run the full season beside the Peugeot 908. Drivers have not been confirmed as yet.

  • Pegasus Racing will be back in the Le Mans Series in 2010 with two cars. They will continue with the Courage LC75 AER and will run a new, 2011 ready Norma M200 Judd. Norma have been competing in the VdeV and Speed Championships in 2009 and have created their LMP2 runner with the 2011 rules in mind.

    Jean-Christophe Metz will race with Julien Schell and a third driver yet to be decided in the Norma. In the Courage, Philippe Thirion will race but his teammates have not been decided upon as yet. The team will continue on Avon tyres for both cars

  • Aston Martin will have a presence in the SuperGT Championship in 2010. ASpeed Racing will engineer the GT2 spec Vantage and will compete in the GT300 category. Drivers have not been confirmed at this stage
