More ALMS announcements, we find out how screwed Donington actually is and we take on bit of rallying in today's news.
RSR Jaguar have confirmed that Marc Goossens will race alongside team owner Paul Gentilozzi in 2009.
"It is an honor for me to be selected by Jaguar Cars and RSR to drive the No. 33 JaguarRSR XKR GT and to be a part of this new Jaguar racing program,” Goossens commented. “I can’t wait to get through all the testing and development and get back to racing at Sebring after what we accomplished at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and the progress the RSR team has made this winter.”
Goossens has raced in series such as Formula Ford, FIA F3000, FIA GT, Japanese Formula Nippon, Belcar Championship and others, as well as entering multiple endurance races with nine starts at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He holds a record with four wins (1997, 1998, 2005, 2007) in the Zolder 24 Hours.?li>
Sebring, on their website has indicated that an Aston Martin LMP1 entry is expected to race. They did not mention if it was to be the factory team or a private runner - but either way, it is good news.

It has been revealed that Donington Park owes creditors £4.8million following the failed attempt to bring the track to F1 standards. While the track owners hope to find another lease holder to bring the track back up to racing spec, the debts owed are sizable according to britsonpole.com. Unfortunately, it seems that tens of thousands of pounds are owed to the little guys - like St Johns Ambulance, grounds keepers and caterers.

And Peugeot's Stephane Sarrazin (pictured) currently sits in 8th after the first day of the Monte Carlo Rally. The Former French Rally Champ and 2007 LMS Champ lost over three minutes on the final stage with a puncture. He is 3m 15sec away from the leader - Ford's Mikko Hirvonen. (Yes, we love Rally too!)
