A Rumour Round Up - 08 February

Rumours on Grand Am, Le Mans Series, ALMS and GT1 World Championship are all inside!

  • Grand Am could be seeing a bit of bad news if some internet rumours are to be believed. Rumours to date include both Krohn and Bob Stallings exiting the Series. Krohn's continual arguement with Lola over the ProtoAuto agreement could see it exit the Series, while any reason for Bob Stallings to leave the Series remains unclear. You may remember that Tracy Krohn owns a Ferrari GT2 car.

  • Pescarolo are expected to do some early season Le Mans Series races
  • KSM has dumped the Mazda engine and moved to Judd power and are expected to run the LMS season
  • The Queensland Government are expected to confirm a proposal from V8 Supercars to make the former Indy 300 on the Gold Coast in Australia a V8 only affair with endurance racing taking over. The 'selling point' is that international drivers will be invited to compete for a large cash prize. You may remember that the GT1 World Championship could have run at this event. The track will also be shortened - as will the entertainment value and worth of the event. More on this later
  • It is also expected that Level 5 Motorsport and Alex Job Racing could be running LMPC cars in 2010 as well.
  • It has also been reported on internet forums that Robertson Racing's primary car has been destroyed in a lower level race. While they have a back up car, it is far below the level of their lead car.
