News in Brief for 10 March

Andy Pilgrim returns to drive the K-Pax Racing Volvo S60 in 2010

Today's news includes changes at JMW, Alex Job and Marc VDS, plus more Le Mans driver announcements.

  • Darren Turner has replaced Richard Westbrook at JMW Motorsport's Aston Martin. Westbrook will race for Prospeed Competition's Porsche, although he might end up back with JMW for Le Mans as it is expected that Prospeed will run a gentlemen driver line up at Le Mans.

Tuner will run with JMW alongside his duties in the GT1 World Championship with the Young Driver AMR team.

"I'm very happy to be joining JMW Motorsport for 2010," said Turner. "The team has already won the LMS GT2 title twice, outlining their winning capabilities. It's good to be teaming up with Rob again as we have won together before. I'm also looking forward to working with Dunlop who have a very competitive tyre in GT2 and have already achieved great success with JMW."

  • Alex Job Racing will enter a third GTC Porsche in the 2010 ALMS Championship. The car will be driven by Luis Diaz and Ricardo Gonzalez. This will surely appeal to many fans who were hoping that Diaz would get a ride after his Fernandez ride ended after 2009.

"Luis and Ricardo bring a lot of racing experience to the team," Alex Job, team owner said. "Luis has been to every track on the schedule making him a valuable asset behind the wheel and with our other drivers. Ricardo has a lot of open-wheel experience and together with Luis we will indoctrinate him into endurance racing. I am looking forward to seeing how this team develops as the season progresses."

  • K-Pax Racing has announced that they will return to the World Challenge in 2010, again with their Volvo S60s with Randy Pobst and Andy Pilgram. The team is excited for the season which will see a three-class field, the Volvo being in the leading class.
  • Marc VDS Racing has confirmed their driver lineup for Le Mans. Bas Leinders, Eric De Doncker and Markus Palttala will share the driving duties.

Other driver announcements for the race include:
    - Vanina Ickx will join Signature Plus Aston martin with ierre Ragues and Frank Mailleux
    - Spyker will race one car with Tom Coronel, Peter Dumbreck and Jeroen Bleekemolen
    - Warren Hughes has signed with Quifel ASM (source:DSC)
