The Zakspeed Racing squad of Sasha Bert, Jarek Janis and Andera Montermini have claimed pole for round nine of the FIA GT Championship from Adria, Italy. With Janis setting the quick time, this is the fourth pole for the Czech driver. Less than a tenth behind is the Phoenix Racing Aston Martin DBR9 with the Vitaphone Racing Maserati MC12 of Michael Bartels and Andera Bertolini just over a tenth from the pole sitting car.
In an impressive fourth on the grid is the All-Inkl.com Racing Lamborghini Murcielago. It has only been a handful of races that this team has raced the car and they are getting it up to speed with some impressive driving. The GLPK Carsport Corvette C6.R will line up eighth for the race.
GT2 is lead by the Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari 430 GT of Nathan Kinch and Andrew Kirkaldy, the latter of whom was at the wheel to set the time. They line up ahead of the AF Course Ferrari 430 GT. These two teams have been in fierce combat all season and it seems this race will be no different. The only G2 runner – the Gillet Vertigo will line up 18th out of the 20 cars contesting this round.
