San Luis: Vitaphone Maserati Tops Rain Shortened Session

The weather played havoc with pre-qualifying

The second session of the weekend was delayed after a heavy rain storm swept across Potrero de ls Funes. Pre Qualifying eventually got underway at 14:30, 1 hour 50 minutes late, and was shortened to 45-minutes as a consequence.

The nr2 Vitaphone Racing Maserati of Miguel Ramos and Enrique Bernoldi was the quickest of the 19 cars that ventured out on track but, with standing water on several parts of the circuit, the times were a lot slower than the earlier Free Practice session. Ramos set a time of 2:21.198 at the end of the session, which was 1.245s faster than Markus Palttala in the nr41 Marc VDS Ford GT.
